On Sunday, 03 October, Andy Armstrong will represent Boeing at the Virgin Money London Marathon, in aid of SSAFA. He will run 26.2 miles through London, starting in Blackheath and finishing at The Mall, alongside St. James's Park, alongside approx. 30,000 runners from across the world -- both amateurs and professionals. Andy needs to raise more than 2,000 GBP in total by the time he runs. Andy is one of 75 fantastic runners who have decided to take on this epic challenge for SSAFA – this is the biggest team SSAFA have entered and with your help we hope to raise an outstanding £100,000.

Let's all get together to support him and this amazing cause!

SSAFA is Boeing's UK Charity of the Year, and we donated more than 60,000 GBP in 2020 towards their mentoring programme and their emergency fund for military families. SSAFA – the Armed Forces charity, formerly known as Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association, provides lifelong support to serving men and women and veterans from the British Armed Forces and their families or dependents.

Andy joined Boeing Defence UK in 2015 as the Lead Airworthiness and Certification Engineer, focusing on type certification for the P-8A Poseidon, Chinook ER, various UAV and E-7 Wedgetail and certification of Chinook modifications. He is now the Airworthiness Manager for all aircraft programs. Andy served in the RAF for 19 years in a variety of maintenance management, procurement, integrated logistics support, support and engineering authority, engineering policy, airworthiness regulation development and Structural Integrity SME roles, before moving into the private sector in 2010.
